Juggling Suns is the forefront band on the Jersey Shore jam scene.
They have won the Asbury Park Music Award for Best Jam Band for the last two years
in a row, and guitarist Mark Diomede received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003.
Veterans to the festival scene, Juggling Suns is forging ahead with new compositions
and a strong local fan base. Abductions being served up both Friday and Saturday, so
"Get Abducted!!"
Hailed by Jambands.com as “A potentially lethal player on the jamband scene… charting
its own progressive course based on unabashed talent,” U-Melt was formed in 2003 when members
of two up-and-coming bands (a440 & Head Monkey) decided to join forces to serve a single sonic
vision. Over one year and 150 shows later, the result is one of the fastest rising bands in the
Northeast and beyond, and rightfully so. Their infectious groove, top-notch songwriting, soulful
lyrics, and an uncanny ability to feed off of each other during their lengthy improvisations easily
them apart.
The name says it all. We
are a band born and raised in the backwoods of central Pennsylvania, and our
sound is a reflection of our love for all things natural and real. We
come from different walks of life but form a quartet of friendship and musical
experimentation. Our philosophy is that there are two types of people in
the world, those who love bluegrass and those who don't know it yet.
Settle in and enjoy the experiment!
The BILLY HECTOR Band includes drummer Dan Hickey and bass player Winston Roye (Bernie Worrell, Nile Rodgers, Herbie Hancock). With thirty years of performing under his belt,
Billy Hector is recognized as one of the hottest
guitarists and songwriters playing the original circuit and serves up what
more than one reviewer has called "one of the best shows you'll ever see". . Turtle Soup's special blend of jam rock, funk and dance music
is no longer New Jersey's best kept secret, thanks to winning Top Jam Band and
Top Groove Band at the 2007 Asbury Music Awards this past November. Not only are
they excellent songwriters, but dazzling musicians as well. Fun, catchy hooks,
complex arrangements and sweet grooves fuel their improvisations. This band combines exceptional talent and professionalism to create a memorable
show. This pays off, and they've been quickly gaining steam. In the past few
months, they've played with Blues Traveler, Paul Rodgers, Marshall Tucker Band,
Foghat, Little Feat, Dark Star Orchestra, RAQ, and The Breakfast. The Point brings an intense new sound to the realm of live music today.
Best described as the marriage of swirling soundscapes with a
deeply rhythmic foundation, they produce a sound altogether their own. Extended jams
are likely to reach an epiphany with three-part harmonies soaring over the band.
The Point creates an unforgettable, unique live experience which leaves their
crowds satisfied yet hungry for more electronic, psychedelic, hip-hop groove.
Fried up in the 21st century, Unexplained Bacon combines psychedelic riffs with
driving funk-rock, reggae, and trance, to form a unique blend fatty enough to fill
any musical appetite. Described as Rockadelic Funk; Bacon has been rockin'
audiences since their inception in 2002. Fun, catchy originals and classic covers make
Bacon ALWAYS a good time. After playing on the same bill as bands such as Moe., Leftover
Salmon, Vince Welnick, Galactic, RAQ, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, MMW, Roots, David
Grisman, and Nero, and playing at great venues as The Stone Pony, Lion's Den, Tobacco Road,
and Mexicali Blues; and up and down the east coast...........
NYMPHOMATICS is a three-piece rock band from New Brunswick, N.J.
They combine hard-rock style and punk attitude with pop sensibilities. They are here to
challenge the current state of sexually repressed culture and politics. They believe the
primal elements of sex and lust are an essential part of the history and sound of rock music.
Their stripped-down sound and straight forward approach is similar to bands like Nirvana, Weezer,
Urge Overkill, Stone Temple Pilots, The Pixies, Chisel, and The White Stripes.
The Basement Generals, from northern New Jersey,
formed in the spring of 2009. The band is a 4-piece consisting of veteran musicians from other New Jersey
bands, including Newton Crosby, The Brainbox, The Paul Holda Band, Transgressor; plus Jam/improv nightclub
Mexicali Live's lighting director, Jeff Volks on drums. Influenced by the Grateful Dead, Phish, moe., Disco
Biscuits and all things improvisational, the band plays exciting, experimental jam rock.
Built around the idea that songs come first,
this compelling young band has earned the relentless admiration of music fans all over the Northeast.
On stage, this five-piece ensemble brings an all-embracing musical experience, combining catchy rock
melodies and lyrics with powerful exploratory improvisations that keep their loyal fans coming back for
more. Their debut album, Hooked and Shattered is a potent mix of the rich lyrics and danceable grooves
that has Relix magazine declaring them a band On the Verge. Rock n Roots music
with a touch of Latin, jazz, funk, reggae and more SCC has something for everyone.
With a tasty blend of banjo,
mandolin, fiddle, upright bass and acoustic guitar, Cabinet has caught the ears of bluegrass
admirers, jam band lovers and even fans in the indie scene.
Steal Your Face combines some of the
Philadelphia Area's hottest players. A mix of eclectic styles and influences each Steal Your Face
performance is a unique improvisatory musical exploration. From the sound of the tropics to
Psychedelic San Francisco audiences and the band together embark on a Long, Strange Trip full of
familiar favorites and fun around every corner.
From their beginnings in Oneonta, NY, Cliff Street drew upon the "jam band with songs theme". After Oneonta
for the larger Albany, NY, Cliff Street burst upon the jam band scene with a new approach to songs, as well as songwriting.
Incorporating energized funk, rock, reggae, progressive, improve, drum & bass, and spacey
"trancy" house jams. Cliff Street always funks you up with two
searing lead guitars, killer bass, amazing drums, and most importantly--catchy vocal harmonies that move a crowd to sing along.
Boris Garcia isn’t a person but a band,
an ensemble that starts with what is called jamgrass – “We’re all folkies at heart,” remarked one band
member – but also fuses a dozen strands of American music into a rich, ever-evolving whole. Bluegrass,
jazz, rock, folk, Celtic, soul, blues – you can hear them all. It is a band that didn’t even start out
to be a band, merely a recording project. But once these old acquaintances started making music together,
the music created its own momentum; they played for a friend’s party, and realized they were a band, and
haven’t stopped since.
